Glass has enjoyed an innovation of technology and art starting in the late 20th Century that continues in the 21st Century. Glass as an art form was born in the United States in the 1970’s. With the help of modern technology, new, improved and enhanced equipment has become available and a new world has opened for artists and glass makers alike. Ancient techniques have been resurrected. New forms of glass, new colors and new techniques were—and are—continually being discovered, effecting integration of ancient with modern. It is an evolutionary art form that is truly in its infancy as an art medium. Because of its infancy, some critics still question the viability of glass as Art, but we believe that the test of time will prove its true value to the art world. The Dancing Hands Gallery is exhilarated and proud to be part of the Glass Movement and brings to you artists who have been involved with the movement since its inception, as well as emerging artists of this wonderful, visual beauty. Here are a few samples of our glass art, arranged by artist.
